Jose Justicia hits 13th nine-dart finish in UK Open history during third round defeat to Gawlas

Jose Justicia has hit the first nine-dart finish of this year's UK Open in a losing effort to Adam Gawlas on the outer boards in Minehead.

As per Richard Ashdown, it is the 13th in the history of the tournament and the first hit on the outer boards with all others coming either on the Main Stage or Red's Bar (Stage Two).

He produced it to go 3-1 up going 180, 180, 141 before Gawlas sent it the distance taking out 80 in the decider to book his spot in the draw for later, while Justicia just has a pin at the PDC Awards to contend with.

It is the sixth of the year after Price's double in Belfast as well as efforts from Matt Campbell, Ian White and Josh Payne.
