As well as the accolade that the
World Cup of Darts brings, it also gleams a spot in the Grand Slam of Darts whether players win the final or not and that is the case for
Josh Rock,
Daryl Gurney and
Gerwyn Price.
Rock and Gurney led Northern Ireland to an incredible final win at the World Cup of Darts in Frankfurt overcoming the incredible partnership of Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton in an emotional win.
As a result, Rock and Gurney both head back to Wolverhampton this autumn to play in the tournament between November 8-16. Rock has his card marked when it comes to the Grand Slam of Darts playing in the past four.
While Gurney will return after six years away. He reached the Quarter-Finals on his debut back in 2017. Price will also return having won the Eric Bristow Trophy three times. He won in 2018, 2019 and 2021 all in Aldersley.
But Jonny Clayton hasn't sealed his spot (through this route at any route). He reached the final of the Winmau World Masters in February so is already there by virtue of that route.
11 players are already confirmed those being Luke Littler, Michael van Gerwen, Luke Humphries as well as Martin Lukeman, 2024 finalist as well as James Wade, Jonny Clayton as TV runners-up and Gian van Veen as World Youth Champion. Jurjen van der Velde also has his spot.
They will be joined by winners of the Women's World Matchplay, North American Championship, PDC Asian Championship and the 2025 Challenge Tour, Development Tour and Women’s Series Order of Merit champions. It is also the last year before it is expanded to 48 next year with more scope likely for the top names to be involved next time around with more prize money on offer.

Latest comments- He didn't say anything when de Graff of ziljstra wouldn't partner her for the Dutch team, did he? No.
- oh behave lol, you can disagree re: the trans stuff but how is there even the slightest implication of racism here?
he's a professional pundit being paid for his opinions btw, so better get used to reading them for the foreseeable.
- Well vdv,I say you should keep your opinions to yourself, now you have come across as a plain racist. Shut your mouth and disappear, there isn't a sport that needs opinions like yours
- Who cares what VDV thinks about anything. Poor guy is desperate to stay relevant. Rather sad..
- Well vdv,why don't you come back and show the darts world how good you are? Your opinions are offered up nearly every day,but you're not really backing up your biased opinions with anything solid
- Comparing Van veen to Littler is a bit silly, there is 5 years between them, would you compare Luke to a 13 year old?
- I think vdv should keep his opinions to himself
- I don't know why this is relevant. Mr Paul should stick to what he's good at, although I'm not sure what that is,apart from talking about himself

- The PL is still mostly UK. It's the flights and delays that they don't like, made worse with more Brexit checks coming in recently.
