Joyce was impressive in his victory over Matt Clark with the latter a potential banana skin considering his recent form. He hit a 100.7 average in a 6-3 win over the player known as 'Superman' and he nearly made it a perfect performance.
He missed a nine-dart finish wiring double 12 for it but he successfully moved through. As did Parody who came from 5-2 down to edge out Cor Dekker in a deciding leg.
'Dynamite' didn't look that good in the early going; but as Dekker started to fade with the finishing line in sight, Parody came back surviving match darts in the decider but he pinned 25.
After his win, he had his usual swagger around the stage something which he did throughout and was warned about by PDC referee Kirk Bevins and a bumper tie with Peter Wright awaits tomorrow.
Rowley also impressed in a closely fought win over Ryan Meikle. The veteran hit four 180's en route to victory over 'The Barber' who has been having a great year. It doesn't get any easier for him though with a tie against James Wade awaiting.
