Ryan Joyce claimed his maiden PDC ranking title during the Summer Series but despite that has admitted that, he is suffering with a lack of confidence ahead of his opening World Grand Prix clash with Peter Wright.
Joyce has said that he is tinkering with his equipment and is ready for a big fight against 'Snakebite'.
ā€œI feel OK and looking forward to it but I wish I was coming into it in better form. My confidence is a bit low at the minute," said Joyce to Darts World.
ā€œI’ve been fiddling about changing flights and stems. Just trying to find some improvement but it’s gone the other way, lost a bit of confidence. I’ve started to lose a lot of games. So I’ve gone back to my old equipment and been practising so I’ll see what happens. "
ā€œI’ve been through it so many times, every player has ups and downs of form. All it takes is one good win and you’re right back up on top form.
ā€œI’ve played Peter a few times before, he’s a nice bloke, we’ve had some good games. I don’t really think who I’m playing ever. I just think about what I’m doing myself and try to make sure I’m playing well.
ā€œI could make no mistakes, play brilliant and still lose. It’d a waste of time worrying about it!ā€
