Ryan Joyce claimed his maiden PDC ranking title during the Summer Series but despite that has admitted that, he is suffering with a lack of confidence ahead of his opening
World Grand Prix clash with
Peter Wright.
Joyce has said that he is tinkering with his equipment and is ready for a big fight against 'Snakebite'.
āI feel OK and looking forward to it but I wish I was coming into it in better form. My confidence is a bit low at the minute," said Joyce to Darts World.
āIāve been fiddling about changing flights and stems. Just trying to find some improvement but itās gone the other way, lost a bit of confidence. Iāve started to lose a lot of games. So Iāve gone back to my old equipment and been practising so Iāll see what happens. "
āIāve been through it so many times, every player has ups and downs of form. All it takes is one good win and youāre right back up on top form.
āIāve played Peter a few times before, heās a nice bloke, weāve had some good games. I donāt really think who Iām playing ever. I just think about what Iām doing myself and try to make sure Iām playing well.
āI could make no mistakes, play brilliant and still lose. Itād a waste of time worrying about it!ā
