Keelan Kay is the leader after the opening day of the first group of Week Four in the
MODUS Online Live League.
Kay claimed four wins in five matches with only a defeat to
Jamie Lewis (4-1) being the blemish on his record.
Barring that, he claimed wins over Bradley Kirk (4-3),
Martin Adams (4-3), Shaun McDonald (4-0) and
Matthew Dennant (4-3).
Behind Kay were Lewis, McDonald and Dennant who all claimed three wins while Adams got off to a disappointing start with just two wins, while Kirk lost all of his matches.
Each player plays once a day against the other players in the group until Wednesday. The winner of the group will go directly through to Saturday's final.
The numbers two and three of the rankings will play a new group against three new players on Thursday evening and Friday evening. These are Darren Beveridge, Jamie Clark and Greg Ritchie.
The numbers four, five and six on Wednesday will also play a new group against new players.
Dave Parletti, Stephen Burton and Kevin Burness are the entrants into this group.
They come into the action on Thursday afternoon and Friday afternoon. The top two of the two new groups also qualify for the final group, which therefore consists of five players in total.
Unlike the first edition of the Modus League in 2020, the game will not be played online via a webcam connection, but at a location in Southampton, England. The matches can be followed via the
Online Darts YouTube channel .
