Keane Barry new leader on PDC Development Tour Order of Merit; Beau Greaves in top eight after tournament win

Keane Barry has taken over the lead from Gian van Veen on the PDC Development Tour Order of Merit. The Irishman took full advantage of Van Veen's absence and won one of the tournaments in Wigan.

After 15 of 24 Development Tour tournaments, Barry tops the rankings with £10,425. Wessel Nijman also managed to pass his Dutch compatriot and is in second place with £10,275. Van Veen is third with 9350 pounds, but chances are that no more pounds will be added. Since Monday, 'GVV The Giant' moved into the top 32 on the world rankings, which means he is no longer entitled to play on the Development Tour due to PDC rules.

Beau Greaves was also one of the tournament winners last weekend. As a result, the 20-year-old rose to eighth place on the Development Tour Order of Merit. If she holds this position, she might be invited to play at the UK Open in 2025.

The Development Tour is the youth circuit of the PDC. This tour is open to players ages 16 through 23. Players who turn 24 during the season may continue to compete.

At each Development Tour tournament, there is a prize pool of 15,000 pounds to be divided. With the prize money, a ranking is established. At the end of the season, the numbers one and two receive an invitation to the World Darts Championship, plus a Tour Card for 2025 and 2026. The ranking winner also gets to compete in the Grand Slam of Darts.
