The PDC Development Tour circuit will again consist of 24 tournaments in 2024. This tour is open to players ages 16 through 23. Players who reach the age of 24 after Jan. 4, 2024, may finish the season.
The 24 tournaments will be played over five weekends. One of those five weekends will be played in Hildesheim, Germany, the other four weekends in the United Kingdom.
The Development Tour season kicks off on February 23 in Milton Keynes. There, the first five tournaments of the year will be played. From May 3 to 5, the second tournament weekend is scheduled in Hildesheim. Wigan hosts the third weekend from June 21 to 23, before visiting Milton Keynes from July 26 to 28. The final four tournaments will take place Oct. 12 and 13 in Wigan.
Then on Oct. 14, the PDC Youth World Championship begins, which this year consists of 128 players for the first time. The best players from the Development Tour may compete in this. They play a tournament until two players remain. The final is traditionally on the final night of the Players Championship Finals on Nov. 24.
At each Development Tour tournament, there is a prize pool of 15,000 pounds to be divided. With the prize money, a ranking is established. At the end of the season, the numbers one and two receive an invitation to the PDC World Darts Championship, plus a Tour Card for 2025 and 2026. In addition, the winner of the annual ranking gets to compete in the Grand Slam of Darts.
