Top darter
Kim Huybrechts is once again showing his warmest side. The 39-year-old Belgian, whom we all know from his performances on the biggest stages within the PDC, is joining forces with his wife and brother Ronny, for a special cause: a benefit tournament for Lynora, a girl of barely 19 months who is fighting a rare heart defect.
The story of Lynora from Stabroek is gripping everyone's throat. The girl has been in the UZ Gent for months and had to undergo no less than eighteen operations in the space of eighteen months. Meanwhile, the medical costs are piling up, causing family and sympathisers to launch support campaigns. For Huybrechts, who besides his career is also known for his social commitment, it was not a difficult decision to put his shoulders under this initiative.
Benefit in Berlaar-Heikant
On Saturday, November 29, the parish hall of Berlaar-Heikant will be transformed into a darts arena. There, the benefit tournament will take place, which includes both a pairs competition and a singles tournament. Everyone is welcome to participate, regardless of level or experience. The goal is simple: have a great day together and gather as much support as possible for Lynora and her family.
Entry fees are 20 euros per couple and 10 euros per person for the individual competition. That money will go directly to medical care for Lynora. In addition, there will also be fringe activities and a pleasant setting, so that not only the participants, but also supporters and sympathizers will have an enjoyable day.
Sports fight with a big heart
For the darts community, this is yet another proof that the sport is more than just competition. The benefit tournament provides an opportunity to come together, enjoy the game and support a family in need at the same time. With the support of a big name like Kim Huybrechts, a nice turnout can certainly be expected.
Anyone who wants to help Lynora and likes to throw darts knows where to go on November 29. In Berlaar-Heikant, sportsmanship and solidarity will go hand in hand - with Lynora as the big winner of the day.
