King dumps out Cross in dominant display, White hits 107 average in excellent win over Smith

Mervyn King and Ian White are the final two players through to the Quarter-Finals at the Players Championship Finals in Minehead after two excellent displays.

King finished proceedings off on the Main Stage as he completed a dominant display against Rob Cross with a 10-4 victory as he stunned the World Matchplay champion.

The Bradwell ace took out 131 to complete the job in a real sign of the display that he put in; this was alongside a 105 average, eight 180's and 55 percent on the doubles. A brilliant performance put in by 'The King'.

White also was excellent as he moved through to his third Quarter-Final in the event in Minehead after also completing a 10-4 victory over Michael Smith.

It was similarly a very complete display from 'Diamond' who will aim to break his Quarter-Final duck tomorrow.

This was shown with a 107.5 average, five 180's and 66 percent on the doubles en rout eto seeing off his practice partner.
