Klaasen edges through on leg difference in PDC Home Tour Group Seven

Jelle Klaasen is the latest player through to the second round in the PDC Home Tour after coming through Group Seven on Thursday evening.

Klaasen who came into tonight as one of the favourites lived up to his prowess but still was pushed close by both Ryan Meikle and up till the last match Gabriel Clemens who finished second and third respectively.

'The Cobra' started his night with a 5-2 win over Gavin Carlin and he followed that up with an important win over Gabriel Clemens 5-3 in an excellent display to go top. Following that he was in double action against Ryan Meikle and lost out in a decider.

This held the key though for the Dutchman who despite losing after being 4-2 up, this meant he was ahead by a solitary leg on leg difference which cruelly denied the multiple Development Tour winner.

Clemens needed a whitewash victory in his final game but ended up losing out to Gavin Carlin who claimed his solitary win of the night.

This means that Klaasen will now join Jamie Lewis, Luke Woodhouse, Dave Chisnall, Geert Nentjes, Nick Kenny and Ryan Searle in the next round of the PDC Home Tour.
