The
Poland Darts Masters 2025 kicks off Friday night with eight tie between top international players and representatives from Eastern Europe. For the Polish audience, the focus is obviously on
Krzysztof Ratajski, who has long been considered the best dart player from Poland. The 47-year-old dart player from Warsaw will take on Jonny Clayton in front of his own crowd.
Both players have been on the right form in recent months. Clayton knuckled his way back into the top five of the world rankings with two ranking titles in 2025. Ratajski also enjoyed a sporting resurgence. After a drought of nearly two years, he finally took another title at a Players Championship tournament in May.
“I am very happy that I have the opportunity to play in Poland. This is something special for me,” insisted Ratajski as per PDC.
“Every victory makes me happy and gives me a boost of self-confidence, and my form is good and quite stable, so I'm hoping for a good performance.
The support of the home crowd in Gliwice is helping Ratajski, and he even dares to dream aloud of a unique moment. “I think winning this tournament in front of the Polish audience would give me more joy than winning any previous tournaments. I believe it is possible, and I will try to make this dream come true.”
Ratajski has enjoyed a return to form as of late as mentioned he won a ProTour earlier this Summer. It will be a tricky tie for Clayton as a result who has to endure facing Ratajski in front of his home crowd on his World Series return.
But Clayton will no doubt relish the chance. Also given he wasn't part of the touring party for the US Darts Masters so will want to show he belongs in the elite and within the World Series. What better statement to make against Poland's best player.
