Lee Evans threw a nine-darter Thursday at the 26th Players Championship tournament of the season. The perfect leg was hit in his first round match against Dirk van Duijvenbode.
Having already produced a 12-darter in the first leg, Evans started the second leg with two 180s. A 141 finish then ensured the leg was concluded in nine darts. It is the first time Evans has thrown a nine-darter at a PDC tournament.
In the end, Evans won the match convincingly 6-4. The Englishman threw an average of 102.69, while Van Duijvenbode was also above 100 with a 101.54 average.

- I completely agree with Vincent's comments on "whistlegate". It's great to have someone with Vincent's exprience address this issue, so hopefully clearer and stricter guidlelines can be given to referees, security and members of the crowd. No whistling during throws, and something like: whistlers evicted and fined a hefty sum.
