Leon Weber won the final Development Tour tournament of the season on Sunday. The German took the overall victory at Event 24 to win the last Development Tour tournament of the year.
Weber smoothly got through his first three matches against Jack Alexander (4-1), Coby Jones-Swanson (4-0) and Thomas Banks (4-1), before fighting his way past Stef Kosters (4-3) and Jarno Bottenberg (4-3). Keanu van Velzen was then beaten 5-2 by Weber, who was then 5-3 too strong for Beau Greaves. In the final, Adam Gawlas had to lose 5-0 to Weber.
The Development Tour is the youth circuit of the PDC. This tour is open to players ages 16 through 23. Players who turn 24 during the season may continue to compete.
At each Development Tour tournament there is a prize pool of 15,000 pounds to be divided. With the prize money, a ranking is established. At the end of the season, the numbers one, two and three receive an invitation to the World Darts Championship, while the numbers one and two also receive a Tour Card for 2026 and 2027. The ranking winner also gets to compete in the Grand Slam of Darts.
