Luke Littler's hopes of another PDC major title are still alive. The Nuke has comfortably dispatched James Wade 4-0 in the last 16 of the 2025 PDC Winmau World Masters, winning all right legs played and denying The Machine even a dart at a double, to reach the quarter-finals in Milton Keynes in style.
Littler had blown former Lakeside champion Andy Baetens away in the opening round, taking only around 10 minutes for a whitewash win. The teenage sensation was seemingly on a similar mission in this match tonight too, not wasting a year time in the early stages of the contest.
After finding his old faithful double 10 to take the opening leg of the match, Littler checked out a brilliant 90 finish on the bullseye for the second leg, sealing the set in style to go 1-0. The second set was similarly one way traffic from the newly crowned world champion. Two more legs went comfortably to Littler as he headed off stage for the interval averaging just over a ton and two sets to the good.
A fifth straight leg went the way of the world number two at the start of set 3. And as Littler then broke the Wade throw again with a 52 checkout on tops moment later, he sealed the set in just 28 darts to make it 3-0. Arguably all that was missing was a nine-darter and Littler threatened to deliver that in the first leg of set 4, going five darts into the perfect leg. Although there was no nine, Littler took the leg in 12 to move one away from the win. That win nearly came in the most special of styles too, but Littler wired the bull for a 170. Nevertheless, he returned to clean up the 25 remaining and secure a comprehensive victory.
