Daryl Gurney came from a set down twice to see off Florian Hempel in what was an exceptional win for 'Superchin' who showed grit, bottle and his own words 'cojones' to reach the third round of the PDC World Darts Championship.
Gurney spoke afterwards about having angry Daryl in the back of his head and not accepting his fate as well as a clash next with his good friend Jonny Clayton who he quipped will enjoy playing him more than Mickey Mansell after he got bogged down in the pace of the 'Clonoe Cyclone' in his tie.

"It means everything to me. I'm losing my voice as I gave it the biggun but I'm very proud of myself as 9/10 when I'm behind I'll always put my head down and I probably never get a result like this. I never come out on top so proud of myself of sticking in there and coming through when it mattered in the fifth set," said Gurney.
"Florian was brilliant. The way he started off in the fifth set I thought don't give me 3-0. The person in me got angry and thought don't you dare think about that. He's only won on his throw don't think about it. The way I looked at it, the first four sets just went with throw. Let's see who's got the biggest cojones in the fifth and we soon realised who did."
"I feel like I'm playing really well and my standards really good. I'm more hit and miss. When I was winning Players Championship and World Grand Prix titles I don't even remember that, that's six or seven years ago. I don't remember that player, I'm trying to get him back but sometimes he's null and void."
"Jonny is a gentleman. As soon as I came in the first person I seen was Jonny, I wished him good luck. He wished me good luck. Jonny is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet in life no mind darts."
He also was asked if it would've ruined his Christmas had he lost and he said going home to his family means more to him than what happens on the dartboard as well as what happens to the big name seeds with many falling in the past two weeks.
"It would've ruined my Christmas if I was going home tonight. I go home tomorrow morning first thing half five. There's one thing I know is my son and my girlfriend will put a smile on my face if I lost but I didn't."
"Any seed that got beat I didn't wish them getting beat. They're their own player, person. They won they lost whatever and all I can do is concentrate on myself. I hope all of them have a Merry Christmas."
