Adrian Lewis is successfully through to the third round at the 2020 PDC World Championship after defeating Cristo Reyes in a deciding set victory.

Lewis was pushed all the way to a tiebreak scenario but held his nerve to produce some quality darts to defeat the Spaniard who was two sets up to begin the tie and looked like he was heading through. Seven 180's and 33 percent of the doubles as well as nearly hitting the nine-darter was a real highlight for 'Jackpot'.
Reyes took the opening leg with a 78 checkout to break throw but it continued to go back and forth with Lewis breaking the curse of breaks but Reyes forced a decider which he pinched putting Lewis under pressure.
Lewis began to go into trouble as he watched Reyes go on to win the next set 3-1 and double his lead and go one set away. The pressure was now both on Lewis and Reyes, the former to pull it back and the latter to close it out.
'Jackpot' began to rally and he took a break of throw with an 85 checkout in the next set and after Reyes missed double 20 for a 139, Lewis took a 2-1 lead which he closed out to half the deficit.
It was back to back sets for Lewis as he began to gain real momentum claiming the next 3-1 which suddenly forced a deciding set which Lewis led with a 61 checkout. He then went eight darts into a nine-dart finish and Reyes hit double 16 to hold throw.
Lewis went 6, double 16 with a 38 checkout to go one away though despite fluffing his lines. Reyes couldn't finish 95 and Lewis was allowed the chance to win but missed the bull. Reyes as a result forced a tiebreak.
The Stoke-on-Trent ace missed a 170 checkout on the bull but as did Reyes on the 132 and Lewis pinned a 25 checkout as a result. Lewis missed two match darts and Reyes returned to hit double 18 and send it all the way. Reyes missed a 49 checkout to break and Lewis again hold throw on double 20.
Lewis was first to a finish in the form of a 112 and when Reyes could only leave 120, this allowed him sixth darts at it and he pinned 56 for victory.
