Ryan Searle produced the best performance of the tournament so far averaging 101.54 in defeating Steve West in straight sets at the 2020 PDC World Championship.
Searle hit a 101.54 average and five 180s; as he set up a clash with Gary Anderson which based off his win over Steve West could gleam a shock.
The opening five legs went with throw as Searle edged the first set 3-2; he looked good in the process hitting three 180s and a 98.5 average.
'Heavy Metal' from there went two sets up as despite West going 2-1 up in the second set, Searle was averaging around the 102 mark and sent it to a decider before taking out a 79 checkout in the decider.
West to start the next set was brilliant hitting a second maximum, but Searle finished 97 to lead in the set. It went with throw and to another decider but despite Searle missing match darts, West could not finish 86.
This allowed Searle a route through to the third round in one of the best performances of the tournament so far.
