Lihao Wen managed to take his first final victory in the PDC China Premier league campaign last Tuesday. This Chinese equivalent of the Premier League consists of eight nights in which eight players compete.
Lihao Wen, the runner-up in the second and third nights, managed to avoid a third consecutive defeat in a final by defeating reigning champion Xiachen Zong 5-4. Zong managed to win two nights already this edition and is currently on top of the competition, followed by Wen. Besides the two World Cup participants, Xicheng Han (the winner of the second evening) and Bin Zheng are also currently in the top 4.
The format of the PDC China Premier League changed last year along the lines of the Premier league. The league consists of seven mini-tournaments and the playoffs. The winner of the playoffs qualifies for the World Darts Championship.
On Aug. 26, the next two nights of the PDC China Premier League will be played. On Aug. 27, the league will conclude with the seventh night and the playoffs. The playoffs will consist of two semifinals (best of 19 legs) and a final (best of 21 legs).
