Across a volatile evening session, Jeffrey de Zwaan and Kim Huybrechts also claimed notable victories, while several matches turned on missed doubles and late drama.

Menzies delivers quality as Wright and Van Barneveld fall

The performance of the night came from Menzies, who averaged 104.5 in a commanding 6-3 win over Van Barneveld. After falling behind early, the Scot flipped the match with relentless scoring and clinical finishing, reeling off legs to take full control. Van Barneveld had moments, but was ultimately unable to live with the pace once Menzies found his rhythm.
Earlier in the session, De Zwaan punished a below-par Peter Wright to seal a 6-3 victory, taking advantage of missed doubles and key moments to send the former world champion out at the first hurdle.
Huybrechts also impressed in a 6-3 win over Dirk van Duijvenbode, with an early break proving decisive in a contest that never quite swung back in the Dutchman’s favour.

The evening began with a deciding-leg thriller as Michael Unterbuchner edged past William O'Connor 6-5, sealing just his second career Euro Tour stage win and setting up a clash with Michael van Gerwen.
Joe Cullen was one of the few players to progress comfortably, dispatching Maik Kuivenhoven 6-1 in a one-sided affair.
There was also success for Damon Heta, who came through a scrappy, break-heavy contest against Madars Razma, winning 6-4 despite neither player able to hold throw consistently.
The most dramatic finish of the night came as Oskar Lukasiak finally secured his first Euro Tour stage win, needing ten match darts to close out a tense 6-5 victory over Daryl Gurney.
