Dazzling Damon Heta wins second Players Championship title of 2025 defeating Stephen Bunting in thrilling final

Damon Heta is the champion at Players Championship 20 after defeating Stephen Bunting in a stunning final win 8-7 and it is the second title of the year for the Aussie ace who continues to thrive and grow.

Heta has now won eight Players Championship titles in his career as he continues his streak as a perennial winner on the ProTour against Bunting who has also had a superb year so far.

'The Heat' excelled against Gerwyn Price hitting a 109 average, Daryl Gurney and Madars Razma among others in the latter stages before taking down Bunting in the final.

Bunting left 170 after nine on the Heta throw. He took aim but only hit one of the trebles. He left it handy in the form of double 18.

Bunting pinned it to break for 1-0. He hit 128 to leave 170 again after 12 this time. Heta hit 139 to leave 56 with Bunting just getting one for 70 and he pinned it for 2-0.

Heta finally got off the mark with a 109 checkout to make it 2-1 as Bunting was throwing for 3-1. He missed the bottom wire on double 20 for 3-1.

Heta hit double 10 for 2-2. He suddenly led with a third on the spin for 3-2. Bunting missed darts to hold and Heta pinned double 16 for 4-2. Bunting hit a maximum to leave a finish but Heta hit a fifth of the match to leave 61. He returned and hit double 16 for 5-2.

Heta hit double five for 6-2 to continue his tear. Bunting hit 52 to hold throw for 6-4. Heta hit double 20 for 7-4. Bunting though hit a 130 to make it 7-5.

Bunting went one behind at 7-6 and sent it all the way at 7-7. Heta hit double 18 to seal the title.
