Luck of the Irish: William O'Connor marks St Patrick's Day with third nine-dart finish of Players Championship 7

It is St Patrick's Day today and over in Hildesheim, William O'Connor has marked it in style with the third perfect leg of the day at Players Championship 7. He did so in seeing off Jimmy van Schie 6-1.
He has now reached the Quarter-Finals albeit it is the only one today not to be on the streaming board with Dirk van Duijvenbode and Ryan Searle both hitting perfection on PDCTV.
Winning 6-1 with a 102 average. He completed the feat to break and go one away from victory. He went the usual 180, 180, 141 route to claim it.
The luck of the Irish on his side and he will hope to mark today with a wonderful win to kick off the German double header.

- This setup gives a free ride to guys at the bottom end of the ProTour qualification, where you get first round European Tour entry and Players Championship seeding. - Would agree that winning the League phase is the pinnacle. Imagine the tragedy if MVG had qualified without winning a night in fourth place then won the play offs. It just shows that the premier league is a money making jaunt for a few elites and the PDC and a night out for pissheads. Now it’s over its World Series time, another non ranked exhibition series thats no longer really needed. Bring back some serious tournaments like the Las Vegas Desert Classic..Mysstree02-06-2025
