Lukas Wenig has plans after Tour Card win "Would like to seize the opportunity"

The PDC Pro Tour season begins on February 12 with the first Players Championship tournament. This tournament is not new territory for Lukas Wenig, as he has often played there as a substitute in the past. What is new for him, however, is the fact that he is competing there as a Tour Card Holder.

"Many years of dreaming about it and working towards it, but right now, when I felt least ready, it actually worked," Wenig writes on his Facebook page.

Wenig struggled at Q-School and although he was consistently in the top 13 in the Q-School Order of Merit, it was only on the last day that it was decided that he would win the Tour Card via this ranking. "It wasn't my best Q-School, there were constant ups and downs and many games didn't come easily, but meant a lot of work and fighting spirit," Wenig looks back.

For the German, it is already clear that he definitely wants to make the best possible use of his Tour Card. He is aware that this can also bring difficulties. "I'm looking forward to the next two years, in which everything will be turned upside down and certainly not everything will always be easy, but the course will be set for my future path," he writes. "I want to use the opportunity to learn, develop further and possibly take the next step."
