Luke Humphries will face Kim Huybrechts in the final of the
Czech Darts Open. In the second semifinal of the Euro Tour tournament in Prague, 'Cool Hand' triumphed 7-4 against
Luke Littler.
Littler had already thrown three 110+ averages earlier this tournament, but now, for the first time this tournament, he encountered a player who can easily top this level as well. 'The Nuke' came up with a respectable average of 106.73 this time, but Humphries played a notch better and threw an average of 108.56.
The difference was made early in the match. A 14-darter and two 12-darters gave Humphries a 3-0 lead. In the fourth leg, Littler only got on the scoreboard after a 13-darter. Humphries maintained the margin and reached 5-2 via a 13-darter and an 11-darter.
Littler then threw a 14-darter to cut the deficit to 5-3 before a crucial ninth leg arrived. Littler missed five break chances, before Humphries managed to make it 6-3 with an 18-darter. Littler extended the game with a 13-darter, after which Humphries secured the win with a 72 finish.
Humphries can try to win a Euro Tour title for the seventh time in his career. Earlier this year, he won the German Darts Grand Prix.
