Luke Humphries will face off against Gary Anderson in the Quarter-Finals of the 2023 Grand Slam of Darts after another impressive display from the World Grand Prix champion who has been one of the best players so far this week in Wolverhampton.
He defeated Ryan Searle in the process as Anderson was denied the chance to face his practice partner on the big stage. This after 'The Flying Scotsman' produced a blockbuster display to defeat Gerwyn Price earlier this evening. It was 10-7 to 'Cool Hand Luke' in the end.

Searle though led early on. He went 3-2 up with an 82 checkout and 75% on the doubles despite trailing by 15 points average wise. Humphries though started his charge. He produced back-to-back legs to go 4-3 up with a 109 average.
He narrowly lead from there at the interval with a break at 6-4. Before returning with a blockbuster 10-darter for an 8-4 lead. Searle had a flourish of his own with a 115 checkout. But costly missed darts saw Humphries capitalise to go one away.
It flipped around though as Humphries missed match darts and Searle hit 112 and then 94 in quick succession to ask the question and go 9-7 down.
He firmly answered with a 15-dart 39 checkout on double eight last dart. He finished with a 105 average and nine 180's despite an inferior doubling percentage of 37 as opposed to 50% from Searle in defeat.
