Luke Littler potentially breaking Phil Taylor's record for most World titles and people betting on it this early in the career of the new World Champion is 'ridiculous to contemplate' in the view of Richard Ashdown and Mark Webster.
A lot of the paper talk surrounding Littler's first World title was skewed towards the fact that he could feasibly break the record of the legendary Power.
But Webster said himself that the money is that much in the sport now that he could feasibly retire before he even gets close to that amount.
"You'd like to think it's going to be so competitive that it's going to be hard to do but he's so young. The likelihood is it is not and will he still be hungry to play as yes at the minute he is but I feel he's going to put himself in a great position where he could retire. There are players waiting in the wings as well. It's going to be difficult," said Webster on Love The Darts.
While Ashdown took an even different tact saying that it is ridiculous to even think of that at this point and that you can't judge whether he would win another no mind 16.
"We like to speculate and that's why we're sat here but I find that one ridiculous to contemplate. How can we possibly judge if he's ever going to win another World title let alone 16. It's such a difficult one to think about."
