Luke Littler challenges amateurs: Netflix offers £501,000 for winning a leg

Luke Littler is set to be the centre of attention in a new live sports show on Netflix. In 'Beat Luke Littler,' twenty amateur darts players from across the country will get the chance to take on the world number one. Anyone who manages to beat the two-time world champion in a single leg of 501 will win £501,000.

The programme will be broadcasted live on Friday 30th October on Netflix and is being produced in partnership with the PDC.
The objective for those two players is simple and straightforward on paper, but may pose to be rather tricky. They have one leg to defeat 'The Nuke.' If they defeat him in a leg of 501, they get the pride of defeating the world number one along with a lucrative prize of £501,000.
According to Netflix, the show aims to combine the atmosphere of professional darts with the excitement of a head-to-head showdown between the world's best player and everyday darts enthusiasts.
Open to everyone as qualifying locations named
Anyone can apply to feature. With what is at stake, it is a tantalising opportunity for many with the chance of also taking to the oche with none other than Littler, who is motivated to put on a show.
He is playing a huge role in the already ongoing nationwide search for 20 players. A video was posted where Littler was reading social media messages before directly looking at the camera and saying: “Reckon you could beat me in a game of darts? Let’s go.”

The selection process will take place through open regional qualifying tournaments in London and Manchester. Players can register via the official website, and from those qualifiers, and from then the final 20 players will be singled out to compete for glory in what is one of the toughest challenges in darts.
Littler is coming off defending his World Matchplay title with a tournament average of over 111. It is a tall order for many, but will be a fun and enthralling challenge with a whopping £501,000 on the line.

- Ultimately, Vin man knew when to call it quits. Barney was excellent and one of the greatest darts player ever, but he just doesn't have that ability anymore. Vinman working in media is only saying what he thinks and I like how he doesn't sugar coat things and is completely honest and direct with his comments. - I agree that this season the format was a bit stale, it would be better to have some new faces rotated in through the season. I also think they should vary the format a bit as it doesn't count for rankings, they could have different varieties of 501 (e.g. double start) or just different challenges.mikedarts03-07-2026
- I don't really understand why its an issue that Littler doesn't play in the events, they are barely televised so there is no draw for marketing and it gives the other players a better chance to define their narratives. The events are more of a throw back to old events. - Not everyone wants to watch pub players throwing 70 averages for about £500. Premier League is indeed a cash cow, but it does its job of promoting the game.
