This weekend, the Formula 1 calendar makes its yearly trip to the United Kingdom for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. In a cross over you probably didn't expect to see, darts' own
Luke Littler has been getting involved in the hype.
As posted by McLaren F1's
official social media pages, Littler can be seen getting hands on experience of the Silverstone track with one fo the British stars of the current Formula 1 driver lineup, Lando Norris. "When Lando’s world meets Luke 'The Nuke's!" reads the post, with pictures of Littler in the passenger seat whilst Norris is at the wheel. "A hot-lap around Silverstone and then a visit to the oche! The full feature will be on Sky Sports F1 this weekend."
Since bursting onto the scene at the most recent World Darts Championship at the Alexandra Palace in December and January and has since become one of the biggest sporting names on the planet, transcending the sport of darts and into the wider mainstream sporting consciousness.
In terms of Norris' chances at Silverstone this time around, the Brit currently sits second in the standings although some distance behind runaway leader Max Verstappen and must be considered one of the dark horses for glory at Silverstone, should Verstappen come into any difficult at any point.
Littler meanwhile will be back in action next week, making his
World Matchplay debut at the iconic Winter Gardens. In terms of the
first round draw however, the teen sensation could hardly have a tougher draw as Michael van Gerwen lies in wait in an absolute blockbuster first round tie.
