Luke Littler briefly returned to Germany at the World Cup of Darts, but on the Euro Tour, 'The Nuke' is holding off for now. The PDC has announced the list of seeded players for the Baltic Sea Darts Open, and it shows that Littler has once again failed to enter.
Littler played his last Euro Tour tournament at the German Darts Grand Prix in Munich in April, and was frequently whistled and booed then, as he was earlier during the Premier League night in Berlin. The 18-year-old teenage sensation was so outraged by this at the time that he posted on his Instagram that he will not play in Germany until the European Championship in Germany until October. In doing so, Littler had overlooked the fact that the World Cup of Darts also takes place in Germany, but on the Euro Tour circuit, for now, Littler seems to be keeping his word. Meanwhile, Littler has now missed five Euro Tours in a row.
The rest of the top-16 of the PDC Order of Merit do appear on the entry list, and supplemented by number seventeen Josh Rock they form the top-16 seeded players at the Baltic Sea Darts Open. This tournament will be held July 11-13 in Kiel and is the last preparation tournament before the World Matchplay (July 19-27).
Michael van Gerwen, Luke Humphries, Jonny Clayton, Nathan Aspinall, Gerwyn Price, Gary Anderson and Peter Wright are all entered. They all start the tournament from the second round.
The best sixteen players of the Pro Tour have also received an invitation and they do have to start the Euro Tour tournament in Kiel from the first round. Meanwhile, Michael Smith, Cameron Menzies, Raymond van Barneveld and Mike de Decker also are entered.
The remaining Tour Card holders will have a chance to qualify on Friday, June 20. Ten spots can be earned at the Tour Card-qualifying tournament for the Baltic Sea Darts Open.
