Last year Luke Littler reached the final at the Dutch Darts Masters on his debut in Den Bosch and this weekend 'The Nuke' will make attempt to go one step further and win his first title on Dutch soil.
The English teenage sensation's status has grown tremendously since then. Last year, Littler came to the Netherlands as a losing PDC World Darts Championship finalist, but now he is the reigning world champion and is considered one of the top favourites for overall victory at the Dutch Darts Masters 2025.
Littler began his new season last week with a 6-3 victory over Lourence Ilagan in the first round of the Bahrain Darts Masters. He was then eliminated in the quarterfinals by Gerwyn Price. Littler threw an average of 105 in that game, but was outclassed by the Welshman who produced an average of 115. A disappointing result for Littler, although there was nothing wrong with the form.
“I’ve not picked up my darts since Bahrain,” Littler told the PDC in a preview of the Dutch Darts Masters. “I celebrated my 18th birthday on Tuesday, and now I’d love to pick up my second title of 2025 here in Den Bosch."
His first hurdle comes in the form of Belgian star Dimitri van den Bergh. “I’ve played Dimi plenty of times and I know how well he can play, so whoever turns up best on the day wins,” Littler concludes.
