Luke Littler continues to add title after title with the first European Tour title of the season being a relative formality as he took down home hero Mike de Decker 8-5 at the Belgian Darts Open in Wieze.
Littler won the title in his first ever European Tour event last year and now returns to the scene of the win to seal another. This after claiming the World Championship and UK Open already this year. There is nothing stopping the darting juggernaut right now.
'The Nuke' hit a 102 average as De Decker continues to not be able to figure out the 18-year-old who scoops his third European Tour title and defends an event for the first time.
Littler decided to lay up off 105 with De Decker way back in the leg. Littler led 1-0 with a hold of throw. De Decker hit a maximum and hit 134 to leave 36 on his throw after 12 and he was off and running.
He missed the bull for a 124 for a break with Littler needing 129. The latter went double double but didn't pay for it as De Decker let Littler back for 2-1. He pinned double 10 for a break of throw at 3-1.
A huge 67 checkout saw De Decker break back to make it 3-2 down. A 164 using the bull saw Littler first to a finish at 145 as he aimed to break again.
He hit double 20 for 4-2 to make it three breaks on the spin. A 116 checkout saw De Decker break again and he was throwing finally for parity. But another leg another break as De Decker continued to run out of time. Finally Littler held to hit double six. He went on to lead 7-3 and broke again.
He was throwing for the title. He left 170 for the title but couldn't get the second treble. De Decker had a chance at 36 and finally hit double nine for 7-4 down.
De Decker hit two 180's in a leg to leave 41 as he aimed to hold which he sealed on double eight for 7-5. He had two darts in for 170 and instead hit 130 to leave double 20 and he sealed the win.

Route to the title

While he claimed the title for a second successive year, it wasn't exactly plain sailing as he opened up with tough wins over Ryan Searle 6-3.
He then took down Luke Woodhouse and Dave Chisnall both 6-4. His average though continually increased and while these players got chances to topple 'The Nuke', he proved too strong.
It was a slightly lower average of 103.50 compared to 103.91 as he saw off James Wade but it was still too good as he won more comfortably 7-3 as Wade can't seem to get near him.

Neither could De Decker it seems with the Belgian continually wondering even on home soil, how do I beat this darting phenom. After winning the UK Open, he also opens with the first European Tour of the season.
