Christopher Kempf, who is in charge of all sorts of statistics and data at the PDC, has brought out an alternative world ranking.
For this alternative world ranking, Kempf takes into account each PDC player's last 200 legs played, his average, his scores between 171 and 180, his checkouts that require three darts and his doubles. When we put all these statistics side by side,
Luke Littler comes out on top. The 17-year-old Englishman owes this to his strong performance at the past
World Darts Championship. In the regular world rankings, he is currently ranked 31st.
In second place in these alternative world rankings, we find
Luke Humphries, ranked number one in the regular world rankings. Humphries follows very closely behind the man he beat in the final at the Alexandra Palace.

Michael van Gerwen, who remains at just under a 100 average. Van Gerwen does score remarkably better on his doubles than the numbers one and two.
Notable absentees in the top ten this alternative world ranking are Nathan Aspinall (4th in the regular world ranking), Danny Noppert (7th in the regular world ranking). Also Peter Wright and Dave Chisnall, both though in the top ten of the regular world rankings, stranded outside the top ten in this alternative world rankings.
