The organization of the Dutch Darts Masters has made a nice gesture to the late dart player Toon Greebe. The PDC and title sponsor TOTO decided to rename the cup the Toon Greebe Trophy.
Greebe died in October 2023 after struggling with health problems for years. The Bosch native lost his lower left leg and right foot after an amputation and also had diabetes.
In the past, Greebe was also active with the PDC. He managed to qualify for the 2008 and 2010 World Championships. His first attempt was Peter Manley 3-2 too strong in the first round. Two years later, Greebe lost 3-0 to John Part.
