Martin Lukeman after a breakout season will make his PDC
World Darts Championship debut later this month and it was a first appearance that has been in the books for a while albeit 'Smash' didn't realize that while he was performing so well in the early part of the season.
"I can't wait, I'm really looking forward to it," said Lukeman to Tungsten Tales.
"Everyone wants to go to the World Championship don't they, it's the highlight of being a professional dart player."
"I was just taking it one month at a time. One competition at a time and then maybe halfway through the year people are like you're in the World Championship already, there's no way you'll get caught and then I started realizing wow."
Lukeman could play Martin Schindler in the second round and hopes to harness potential home support considering he usually plays 'The Wall' behind a vociferous German crowd.
"They're all the same the stages, they just have different sponsors but you still have 1,000's of people cheering behind you.
"If I can get through the first one, I've got Martin Schindler. Normally when I play Schindler I'm in Germany so hopefully I'll have a bit of support on my side this time."
