Mardle wasn't allowed to text Smith's wife predicting Grand Slam glory after European Championship: "After he lost, she said you jinxed it"

Michael Smith won the Grand Slam of Darts last weekend. Wayne Mardle spoke afterwards and said that he deserved it more than anyone else.

"That has been so hard earned over the years not just this week. This has gone on for years now. I'm really pleased for him, I'm not sure there's anyone else that a big trophy deserves to go to more," said Mardle to Sky Sports.

But that he had a small hand in it with Smith's wife Dagmara being sent a prediction of a win in Dortmund by Mardle when he lost in the final to Ross Smith so he was banned from doing so again.

"During the European Championship, I said this is the one. After he lost, she said you jinxed it no more. I tried not to get involved and he won so I am the reason he won of course," he concluded.
