Martin Schindler first man into final at Swiss Darts Trophy 2024 with resounding victory over Josh Rock

Martin Schindler has become the first player to secure a place in the final of the 2024 Swiss Darts Trophy. In the final he will take on the winner of the match between Ryan Searle and Callan Rydz.
Schindler reached the final of a Euro Tour tournament for the second time in his career by defeating Josh Rock in the semifinals. The Wall did so with convincing figures: 7-2.
It soon became clear that the game would go the German's way. He broke Rock already in the first leg with a 13-darter and then doubled the margin via double 5. With a 13-darter and an 18-darter Schindler then ran out to a 4-0 lead.
In the fifth leg, Rock was again not out in five visits on his own leg. 'Rocky' had to pay for that with a third break deficit after Schindler threw a 14-darter for a 5-0 lead. Then 'Rocky' finally got on the scoreboard after a 14-darter in the sixth leg.
The Northern Irishman then had three chances to further reduce the deficit to 2-5, but could not capitalize on his chances. Schindler then hit the double 20 to make it 6-1. Rock then kept himself in the match briefly with an 11-darter in leg eight, before Schindler took the win with a 140 finish.
