Martin Schindler joins elite company with seven ton plus averages on European Tour over past year

Martin Schindler is currently in his best form of his career after another Euro win in Austria last weekend. He has now won all 3 European titles within the last 2 years.
The German had to beat: Kevin Doets, Chris Dobey, Josh Rock and Ross Smith in the final to win his 3rd title. Schindler believed he was not as his best, "It may not have been great, but it was good enough in the end". With 2, 100 plus checkouts and an average over 100 I am sure many believed he was at his best throughout the tournament.
Throughout his career he has thrown an average over 105 no fewer than 8 times on the Euro Tour, with only 9 players having more. But the most impressive thing is 7 of the 8 of them have come since April 2024.
In Austria, Martin Schindler landed checkouts of 116 and 115 to take a 7-2 lead in the final, before Smith started a comeback winning back to back legs. However, the German took his chance at the third time of asking to seal third European Tour triumph in three different countries.

The worry for the PDC is that as Littler has gone beyond the darts fan base and is the most high profile player in the world there is the risk that he is bigger than the PDC and then others with more clout (government for example) may start telling them to clean up their act.
