Masterful Michael van Gerwen thunders into his sixth Masters final with dominant dispatching of Dimitri Van den Bergh

Michael van Gerwen will face off against Stephen Bunting in the final of the 2024 Masters after a thumping 11-2 victory over Dimitri van den Bergh.

With Van den Bergh having a historically dreadful record against Van Gerwen, you felt it was imperative the Belgian got off to a good start here. Sadly for 'the Dreammaker' that was far from the case as 'MVG' romped through the opening session 5-0, averaging nearly 8 points more than his opponent.

As van Gerwen pushed his average towards the 100 mark, the whitewash was becoming a real possibility as van den Bergh was surely getting flashbacks to the 6-0 thrashing he received in the semi-finals of the 2023 World Darts Championship. Credit go him, he did get a leg on the board on leg 9, but van Gerwen was clearly in the ascendancy, heading off stage for the second interval, 9-1 clear.

Van den Bergh got his second leg on the board to start the third session, but a miraculous comeback was not to transpire as van Gerwen sealed the 11-2 win with a stunning 148 checkout moments later.
