Menzies hits nine-dart finish in defeat, Beaton hits 118 average at German Darts Open Tour Card Holder qualifier

Cameron Menzies produced a nine-dart finish albeit in defeat during the qualifier for the German Darts Open (ET11) in Barnsley this afternoon.

Menzies has hit the 23rd nine-dart finish of the season with the last coming from Jurjen van der Velde during Development Tour 13. In doing so, he went the usual 180, 180, 141 route but lost two out of the three remaining legs to fall 6-5.

But with the action into the final round, Steve Beaton and Rusty-Jake Rodriguez have also stood out with some incredible averages.

Beaton hit a 118.19 average in easing past Jon Worsley and is currently facing Jeffrey de Zwaan for a spot in the European Tour, while for Rodriguez, it was 114.15 as he eased past Darius Labanauskas 6-0.
