Robb impressed at times with two 180's and high checkouts of 170 and 112 but Meulenkamp played well at the start and was better on the doubles with 36 percent compared to 25 percent from his opponent. He will now take on Chris Dobey.
Meulenkamp started well but only just pinched the first set in a last last decider with Robb impressing with back to back ton plus finishes in the form of a 112 and a blockbuster 170 checkout.
Robb missed a 107 checkout and despite an excellent leg, Meulenkamp hit double 12 to steal the break of throw.
He doubled his lead with a 92 checkout as he aimed to go one set away from victory. 'Big Rig' though hit his second 180 and doubled his lead in the next set meaning that if Meulenkamp was going to win it wouldn't be fully plain sailing.
Meulenkamp though was up to the task nearly taking out a 170 of his own but he went one away himself levelling the third set and from there he sealed the deal to win in straight sets.
