Michael van Gerwen will not be playing in Bahrain Darts Masters next weekend as the leading light not there as he cited family commitments as the reason behind it.
Van Gerwen though as part of those family commitments is holidaying in Thailand giving a quick update with multiple pictures of him, his wife Daphne and two kids.
MVG goes straight from the PDC World Darts Championship Final where he was roundly beaten by Luke Littler but he will now enjoy some relaxing family time.
He will return for the Dutch Darts Masters in Den Bosch before playing the Winmau World Masters and then the start of the Premier League Darts meaning he has taken time off wisely. He will then start the ProTour season so will be hardly no rest especially for MVG as an elite player.
"Family time in beautiful Thailand! Recharging with my favorite people by my side. See you soon," wrote Van Gerwen on social media.
