Michael van Gerwen in charge of semi-final clash with Chris Dobey at PDC World Darts Championship

Michael van Gerwen is in charge and is halfway to the finishing line in the opening semi-final of the 2025 PDC World Darts Championship with Chris Dobey not taking the opportunities presented to him. He currently leads 3-1 in the race to six.

Even a quick fire run from Dobey towards getting his first set on the board could not derail him from returning to the front in the tie as he aims to face either Stephen Bunting or Luke Littler.

The three-time World Champion opened up with a 3-1 opening set with two 180's and a 103 average as he set his stall out early. But he didn't need to in the second set as Dobey squandered three darts at doubles in the deciding leg and MVG hit 74 to double his lead.

Dobey finally got on the board taking it without reply to halve the deficit with a 170 checkout. He took a clean sweep and looked to be heading into the ascendancy.

But back came MVG. He struck back to race through the fourth set in three consecutive legs and restored a two-leg cushion. He'd pinned four 180's and 53% on the doubles. Will it change from here or will MVG ease to victory.
