Of the current top 128 ranked players in the PDC, 55 have managed to bag themselves a title win during their career. For some however, those celebrations have not been seen for a long while.

Taking a look at data provided by FEB's Data, you can see the likes of Peter Wright (German Darts Championship), Chris Dobey (PC19), Damon Heta (PC18), and Luke Humphries (New Zealand Darts Masters) have all lifted titles in the last three weeks with fellow big names such as Gerwyn Price, Jonny Clayton, Ross Smith, Josh Rock and Luke Littler celebrated success in the last couple of months.

Some big names have been waiting a surprisingly long time though. Michael Smith hasn't lifted a title in around four months, Michael van Gerwen has to go all the way back to January for his last taste of glory. For Nathan Aspinall however, it's now more than a year since his last tournament victory, although that was a big one, at the 2023 World Matchplay.

At the other end of the scale, multiple time major winner Daryl Gurney has been waiting just short of five years since his last success. Legendary darting figures such as Steve Beaton, Simon Whitlock and Mervyn King have been sliding down the rankings over the past few years. The fact that all three have been waiting for more than 2,000 days since their last title win perhaps goes some way to explaining this.

The longest wait of all however, comes from the experienced Dutchman, Vincent van der Voort. Despite being a Tour Card holder since 2011, 'The Dutch Destroyer' has not lifted a PDC title since all the way back in 2014, when he won the Austrian Darts Open.

For many of those flirting around the edge of the top 64, a new title win to celebrate before the year is out could be the difference between keeping their Tour Card and dropping off the Pro Tour.
