Michael van Gerwen sets up Premier League Darts showdown with Luke Littler in Birmingham final

Michael van Gerwen will face Luke Littler in the final in Birmingham this Thursday night at the 2024 Premiere League Darts.

After Littler has edged past Luke Humphries in a deciding leg thriller in the first semifinal, the second semi between van Gerwen and Michael Smith was a slight drop-off in quality but still had more than it's fair share of drama.

Averaging 93 to Smith's 90, it was the Dutchman who prevailed in the end, 6-4, thanks in large part to his proficiency on the outer ring, nailing 54.5% of his doubles in fact. Nevertheless, if van Gerwen is to stop Littler claiming a third successive weekly win, the three-time world champion is likely to have to up his game markedly.
