Michael van Gerwen made his way through via a win over Berry van Peer. The first three legs of the match all went against the darts, before Van Gerwen managed to keep his own leg with a 16-darter for a 3-1 lead. Van Peer was unable to make up that break, and with a 13-darter Van Gerwen finally put a 6-4 final score on the scoreboard.
Elsewhere, Peter Wright will face off against teen sensation Leighton Bennett in the last 16, whilst Luke Littler has a dual with Dirk van Duijvenbode to look forward to, after the latter saw off Chris Dobey 6-1 in the last round.
Gary Anderson is also still going well. Just the 109 average for 'The Flying Scotsman' this time though in his win over Jim Williams. Anderson faces Dutchman, Jeffrey Sparidaans in the next round.
