Keeping his cool in a last-leg decider,
Michael van Gerwen made it back-to-back nightly wins in the Premier League after pipping
Luke Humphries 6-5 in the final of Night 3 in Glasgow. He also won in Berlin last week defeating Luke Littler in the final.
After Van Gerwen missed three darts at D6 in the opening leg, Humphries took advantage breaking the throw in 12-darts.
However, MvG came back with vengeance, snatching the darts straight back with a D19, D20 98 finish.
Looking to take the game away, Humphries had a 16-dart break of throw gifted to him in leg 5 after MvG hit five treble-less visits, and took advantage in throwing a 10-darter to lead 4-2.
But Van Gerwen was then quickly let off, holding his throw in 21 darts and breaking in leg eight to level the contest at 4-4.
Now 5-4 down, Humphries checked out 121 - going bull, T13, D16 - to send it to a decider, only for Van Gerwen to wrap up the game with a 14-dart hold to take the title.
Despite not winning the night, Humphries will take home four valuable points and a confidence boost from his performances after mixed results of late.
Van Gerwen now sits top of Premier League table, with 10 points, having beaten Michael Smith and Rob Cross earlier in the night.
