Following in the footsteps of Leighton Bennett,
Mickey Mansell has now also thrown a nine-darter on Monday in the first
Players Championship tournament of the new season.
The Northern Irishman's nine darter was notched in his second round match against Krzysztof Ratajski. The Pole led 2-0, but the next four legs all went to Mansell.
Mansell then started the seventh leg with two 180 scores and then managed to complete the leg with a 141 check-out for his fifth nine-darter on the PDC Tour. Next, Mansell put a 6-2 final score on the scoreboard.
