Leighton Bennett throws first nine-darter of new PDC Pro Tour season

The first nine-darter of the new PDC Pro Tour season has come in the name of Leighton Bennett. The 18-year-old talent threw a perfect leg in the second round of Players Championship 1 against Lukas Wenig.

With the score at 2-1 in Wenig's favour, Bennett opened the fourth leg with two 180s. Then the former BDO world youth champion managed to throw a 141 finish to complete the nine-darter.
Later, Bennett also won the match 6-5, after the Englishman had earlier won 6-4 over Brett Claydon in the first round.

- I don't really understand why its an issue that Littler doesn't play in the events, they are barely televised so there is no draw for marketing and it gives the other players a better chance to define their narratives. The events are more of a throw back to old events. - Not everyone wants to watch pub players throwing 70 averages for about £500. Premier League is indeed a cash cow, but it does its job of promoting the game. - Laura looking fantastic and obviously has a hidden talent as a dart player. It was so nice to see her shock and joy of hitting that triple 20 I miss Laura, she was excellent and very knowledgeable regarding darts.
