Luke Humphries made it to the final at the
Baltic Sea Darts Open in Kiel last Sunday. 'Cool Hand Luke' took a 5-3 lead in the final against
Rob Cross, but eventually had to let Cross take the title 8-6.
However, the reigning world champion did achieve a milestone at the Euro Tour tournament in Kiel. He reached the quarterfinals of a Euro Tour tournament for the 20th time in his career. Humphries is only the fourteenth player in history to achieve this milestone.
Humphries needed only 38 Euro Tour tournaments to reach his 20th Euro Tour quarterfinal. Only Michael van Gerwen (32) needed fewer Euro Tour tournaments to do so. Cross (39) is the third and only other player to do the same within forty Euro Tour tournaments.
