Scott Mitchell and darts manufacturer Winmau have mutually agreed to end their partnership.
Mitchell said the following in a statement.
"It’s with a heavy heart & glazed eyes I announce myself and Winmau have called time on our darting journey together. We’ve had successes along the way, winning numerous events in singles and pairs including 3 Dutch Open pairs titles, 25 World ranked titles, 44 caps for England with many medals, lifting World & Europe Cups as captain, PDC Q school and challenge tour wins. Not forgetting the fateful day, January 11th 2015, a Lakeside World Championship," said Mitchell.
"Winmau have been at my side for 14 magical years. I've always felt part of the Winmau family & promoted our brands together the best way I could. Whilst we can’t agree how to move forward together right now, we part company on great terms, with the upmost understanding and respect for each other.
I’d like to thank Winmau Marketing Director, Simon Hall for taking a punt on an older rookie back at the start. He’s supported me not just on the oche, but with my family life off it too, becoming more of a friend. I also thank him for his kind words on the Winmau press release."
He also continued on about his future plans. "My 2023 moves forward competing in the hotly contested Professional Darts Corporation Challenge Tour, renewing old rivalries in World Seniors Darts Tour, the fast and furious matches of the MODUS Super Series, being part of my beloved Dorset County team, more England Darts appearances and try to fit in some Amateur Darts Circuit & World Darts Federation tournaments where relevant. That should be about enough to keep my eye in!"
