Mixed feelings for Schindler after first individual major-quarterfinal: ''Put another brick in the wall''

Martin Schindler lost in the quarter-finals of the UK Open last weekend. It was the first time he managed to reach the quarter-finals of an individual major tournament. Previously, Schindler did make the quarter-finals at the World Cup of Darts with compatriot Gabriel Clemens.

''Satisfied but also disappointed. The UK Open was a great event and I enjoyed those days in Minehead,'' was the German's first reaction on Instagram.

Schindler won over Simon Whitlock, Adrian Lewis and Jonny Clayton, but lost to Andrew Gilding in the quarterfinals after a mediocre match. ''It wouldn't be fair to then just whine about that match because I didn't do well in the quarterfinals. Of course I was disappointed and I can do better, but on this major I put another brick in the wall,'' he referred to his nickname 'The Wall'.
